In September, Future of London and The Work Foundation are teaming up to explore the potential of Tech City. We’ll be hosting a Roundtable event to investigate the development challenges and opportunities for the area.
The Government has launched the East London Tech City initiative designed to build on the existing cluster of technology companies with the aim of creating a world-class technology hub to rival Silicon Valley. David Cameron has cited the willingness of major companies, including Cisco, Intel and British Telecom, to invest in the area, as evidence that a major opportunity exists to transform the East of London. But does Tech City really have the potential to deliver?
On 14 September, we’ll be bringing together senior policymakers from central and local government, and the private sector, to assess what the big development challenges and opportunities for Tech City are going forward, and what role there is for policy makers to play in helping the area realise its potential.
This event is invitation only, but to find out more, please contact our Director, Ben Harrison.
