This summer Future of London, in association with Barratt Homes, are holding three visits to current development projects. Full details and information regarding these visits will be posted on our Site Visits page. The first project we will be visiting is St Andrews, Bromley-by-Bow, E3, on Monday 25th June 2012, 9.30 – 11.30am.
St Andrews is a 960 unit scheme delivered in partnership with the LDA and HCA, with 3 architects: Allies & Morrison, MacCreanor Lavington and Glen Howells, that was winner of a 2011 Housing Design Award and a development with the LDA.
The St Andrews development is focused on delivering sustainable development to the heart of the Bromley-by-Bow community. Engagement with the community has been vital throughout the planning and construction of the scheme. The three-hectare site will be transformed with 964 high quality new homes, a brand new health centre, community facilities, and one hectare of new gardens and parks. The mix of housing types, the supporting community space, retail and healthcare provision combine to provide an excellent mixed-use development, bringing new services to not only the residents but also the existing neighbourhoods. Places for the visit are very limited – if you would like to attend, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. We will also be visiting Barratt’s projects at Maple Quays, Canada Water and Dalston Square, E8 later in the summer (dates tbc).
