Leaders Programmes

Future of London’s Leaders programmes provide a unique opportunity for London’s most promising urban professionals to share best practice, develop innovative thinking and become networked across the Capital with colleagues from the public, private and third sectors.  For member organisations, this is a valuable opportunity to build capacity amongst candidates – and their wider teams. As of 2017, collated course materials are available online to candidates, who deliver a presentation to their team/s on what they’ve learned as a final step to gradation.

Future of London offers two bespoke options, exclusive to members: Future London Leaders and Leaders Plus.

For more information, please contact Leaders Project Manager Sabrina Belle.

Future London Leaders

Future London Leaders is our core programme, designed for people 5-10 years into their public-sector careers, and focused on leadership and professional development. Since 2010, we have worked closely with providers and partners to offer a 6-month series that includes leadership skills, mentoring, seminars, field trips and networking opportunities at all levels.

For more information, please visit our Future London Leaders page.

Leaders Plus

Leaders Plus is our next-level programme, created in 2013 in response to steering group requests, and focused on senior insight, including advanced leadership, negotiation, external affairs and more. The 9-month course includes seminars, workshops and an ongoing case study – along with mentoring and networking – to support FLL graduates and others managing increased risk and responsibility. As of 2016, Leaders Plus takes up to four private-sector candidates per cohort, to broaden candidates’ understanding of each others’ worlds, and to cross-subsidise public-sector candidates.

Alumni Network

Joining one of our Leaders programmes provides automatic access to the Alumni Network, which is now represented on Future of London’s board and steering group. The network, with 265 talented professionals as of January 2017, provides a platform for continued learning, debate, socialising, career advancement and contact with key players at all levels across the Capital’s urban sector.
